Ruben Blom Karlsson

Background: Climbing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and over the years it has grown from a passion into a profession. I’ve coached athletes to podium finishes at both the Swedish and Nordic Youth Championships, and I specialize in upper body coordination and power. My background spans from competition climbing to outdoor bouldering, with several years of experience in coaching and route setting at BLX.

Climbing means to me: Climbing, to me, is about adapting to the obstacle in front of you—and enjoying every moment of the process. It’s a constant challenge that blends problem-solving, movement, and fun into one experience.

Specialties: In personalized training, I offer tailored sessions that focus on each climber’s specific weaknesses—whatever they may be. While I can adapt my coaching to all levels, my skills and specialties are best suited for climbers at an intermediate to advanced level. My main expertise lies in strength and conditioning, especially when it comes to finger strength and upper body coordination.
